IN THIS LESSON
While we can’t always stop anxious thoughts from coming, we can choose how we respond.
Anxiety is a growing reality for this generation. Isolation, pressure, uncertainty, and the constant noise of social media have left many youth feeling overwhelmed and afraid of the future. God doesn’t ignore this struggle; He speaks directly into it. Scripture reminds us that God sees every part of who we are, including our anxiety, and He still loves us deeply.
In Philippians 4, Paul writes from prison, facing death, yet speaks of joy, peace, prayer, and gratitude. His words show us that anxiety doesn’t have to control us. While we can’t always stop anxious thoughts from coming, we can choose how we respond. Prayer and gratitude shift our focus from fear to trust, and God’s peace guards our hearts and minds.
This message also reminds us that seeking help is not a lack of faith. God has given wisdom to doctors, counselors, and therapists to help when anxiety becomes overwhelming. When we focus on God and care for others, we gain a healthier perspective and experience the peace only He can give.
Bottom Line: God’s peace is greater than your anxiety.
Challenge: When anxiety hits this week, pause, pray, and trust God with what you can’t control.
