HEALTHY FRIENDSHIPS HELP US FOLLOW GOD BETTER
In Week 3, we’ll focus on friendships and their impact on our lives. We’ve all experienced different levels of friendship, from casual friends to the ones who truly show up when life gets hard. Healthy friendships bring clarity, loyalty, and support, and they often influence us in ways we don’t even realize.
Proverbs 17:17 reminds us that a true friend is loyal and present, especially in difficult moments. Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 shows us the strength that comes from walking alongside others, friends who help us succeed, lift us up when we fall, and stand with us through challenges. While friendships often form naturally, not all friendships are healthy or helpful.
Scripture teaches that healthy friendships push us toward right living and a deeper relationship with God. The people we spend the most time with influence how we think, how we live, and how we follow Jesus. Proverbs 13:20 warns us that the people we surround ourselves with will shape who we become, for better or for worse.
If our friendships are helping us grow, encouraging us to do what’s right, and pushing us closer to God, they are worth committing to. When they’re not, God may be calling us to make changes and pursue healthier friendships that honor Him.
Bottom Line: Commit to healthy friendships.
Challenge: Choose to pursue friends who push you toward God and help you become who He’s called you to be.
