Overview of the lesson
Scripture: Proverbs 19:21 + Isaiah 45:6-7 + James 4:7
This week, we learned what to remember when life feels like it is spiraling out of control.
Proverbs 19:21 reminds us that our plans may change, but God’s purpose does not. Life may feel confusing, but God is never confused. Nothing surprises Him, and He is never panicking. God sees the full picture and remains in control.
Isaiah 45:6–7 teaches us that God is still in control during both good and difficult seasons. A bad season does not mean God is bad. We may not understand what He is doing, but we can trust that He is still present, still working, and still good.
James 4:7 reminds us to stop trying to control everything and surrender our lives to God. Overthinking, worrying, and trying to fix everything alone will leave us exhausted. God never asked us to carry everything by ourselves.
We cannot control everything happening around us, but we can trust the One who can. Give God your thoughts, fears, anxiety, plans, and situations. Talk to Him and reach out to someone you trust when you need help.
Life may feel like it is spiraling, but God is not overwhelmed or out of control.
Bottom Line: God is in control.
