Overview of the lesson.
Scripture: Proverbs 12:25 + Matthew 11:28 + John 14:27 + Psalm 34:17-18 + Isaiah 40:31
This week, we learned what to remember when our minds feel heavy with anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion.
Proverbs 12:25 reminds us that anxiety can weigh heavily on our hearts. These feelings may be powerful, but they do not have to control our lives or become the end of our story.
Matthew 11:28 teaches us to bring our burdens to Jesus. He does not expect us to fix ourselves before coming to Him. We can bring Him our fears, worries, sadness, disappointment, and exhaustion. Coming to Jesus does not mean every difficult feeling immediately disappears, but it does mean we do not have to face those feelings alone.
John 14:27 reminds us that God is the source of true and lasting peace. Distractions, relationships, social media, and entertainment may help temporarily, but they cannot give us the peace only God can provide. As we stay connected to Him, the Holy Spirit produces peace within us.
Psalm 34:17-18 and Isaiah 40:31 remind us that God hears us, stays close to the brokenhearted, and gives new strength to those who trust Him. When life feels dark or hopeless, God is still near, still listening, and still working.
Talk honestly with God about what you are feeling, and reach out to a parent, youth leader, counselor, teacher, or trusted adult. Asking for help does not mean your faith is weak. You were never meant to carry everything alone.
Your mind may feel heavy, but God is still near.
Bottom Line: God is our peace and hope.
