Overview of the lesson

Scripture: Psalm 34:1 + Romans 12:1 + Hebrews 13:15–16

This week, we learned how to respond when we do not feel God’s presence.

Psalm 34:1 reminds us to praise God at all times. We should not worship Him only when life is good, our prayers are answered, or we feel close to Him. Our feelings may change, but God’s goodness does not.

Romans 12:1 teaches us that worship is more than singing songs at church, camp, or a conference. Worship is choosing to surrender our lives to God and honor Him through our actions, decisions, and obedience.

Hebrews 13:15–16 tells us to offer God a sacrifice of praise. Sometimes worship is easy, but other times it means praising God when we are tired, discouraged, confused, or hurting. Our words should praise God, and the way we live should match what we say we believe.

We may not always feel God’s presence, but that does not mean He has left us. Keep praising Him, keep obeying Him, and keep honoring Him through the way you live.

Bottom Line: Keep worshiping God.
